Coping mechanism: Rylan Clark made a joke about his gran who suffers from Alzheimer's
Rylan Clark has revealed how he copes with his grandmother suffering from Alzehimer's disease - by making a joke about it. The reality star told fans about his Gran's illness and explained how he dealt with the sad situation, by laughing at it.
Rylan told fans that his grandparent had tried to climb out of the window of his aunt's house.
He wrote: 'Nannys climbed out the window down my aunts house..... Alzheimers, As sad as it is, you've still gotta laugh x #loveher.' (sic)
He added: 'Update! Nanny wants to come see her favourite grandson, she's on her way! Love her so much. Swear she's putting it on half the time x.'
While Rylan was simply trying to share his coping mechanisms with fans a number of people on Twitter were annoyed he was making a joke about the illness.
He was quick to clarify and posted: 'For those saying "there's nothing funny about Alzheimer's" get a grip! It's MY NAN I'm fully aware it's not nice. This is how I deal with it.'
Rylan went on to retweet a number of fans who agreed with him that laughter was the best policy.
He added: 'Nice to see other people dealing with the sadness of dementia and altzhiemers in the best way. Laugh with them,otherwise you cry #lovemynan.' (sic)

Monday Rylan seemed to be in quite a jesting mood and told fans that he
was replacing Gary Barlow as a judge on the X Factor. He tweeted: 'So happy to finally announce I'm a judge on this years @TheXFactor !!!! Want to wish @GBarlowOfficial good luck and hope I do his seat proud.'
He later told fans that the post was just an April Fools joke.
While Rylan has not landed the huge TV gig he is still very busy with his own schedule and wrote:'
This weeks agenda, presenting on daybreak, presenting on heart, Alan Carr spectacular , some pa's... Not bad for a "X Factor reject" .... X (sic)
