All that's missing are the Waterburys! Line made famous by The Railway Children still runs steam engines for thousands of visitors a year

It's a railway loved by both train enthusiasts and film fans.

And although the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway is most famous for being the location for The Railway Children movie, it's popularity shows no sign of fading as thousands still board the steam train carriages to make the journey on the tracks.

It was brought to attention in 1970 when it was immortalised on film as the railway line that youngsters Bobbie, Phyllis and Peter Waterbury adore watching and waving to passengers.

And more than 40 years later the railway, which joins the national railway network at Keighley in the north east of England and runs 5-miles up the Worth Valley to Oxenhope, is still drawing visitors eager to watch the rolling countryside roll by as they travel on the standard gauge line.

The railway looks like it has been perfectly preserved, as volunteers have lovingly maintained its stations, trains and even dress like staff from a bygone era as they delight those looking to reclaim a bit of the past.
