Manchester United have confirmed they will be holding an open-top bus parade to celebrate winning back the Premier League title.
It will take place on Monday, May 13 – the day after United are handed the trophy following their final home game against Swansea – starting at Old Trafford and ending in the city centre.
United will then play their final Premier League match away to West Bromwich on the following Sunday.
The celebration will mark United’s record 20th league championship and it will particularly sweet because Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have seized the title back from neighbours Manchester City.

Twelve months ago, City paraded the trophy through the streets of Manchester after edging out United on goal difference on an unforgettable last day of the season to claim their first top-flight title in 44 years.
Former United striker Carlos Tevez sparked controversy during the celebrations by holding up a placard with the message ‘RIP Fergie’, forcing City to apologise to their neighbours.
Ferguson and his team proved that they are still a force to be reckoned with by clinching the title with victory at home to Aston Villa on Monday night, and could yet rack up a record number of points in the Premier League if they win their remaining four games.
Despite concerns over their celebrations cutting across any plans City might have to celebrate if they win the FA Cup, it is understood that City have yet to hold official talks with the local council and are comfortable with United’s choice of date.
