If Facebook is looking for a kind of celebrity endorsement, they may try someone a little more interesting.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is stars in one of at least three ads for their new Android Home app, but in a performance admitted by the company to be better enjoyed if distracted by your phone.
In a one-minute video described by Facebook as 'a fun peek behind the Menlo Park curtain' in California, Zuckerberg surprises his product team by congratulating them on the app's creation - before his speech is constantly interrupted by a bored employee playing with his phone.

The man named Joey fiddles with the new Home app - designed for connecting users to their friends' online activity in one app and screen - bringing his online distractions to life with some crazy scenes Zuckerberg is unknowingly caught smack-dab in the middle of.
Among some of the most ridiculous shots is Zuckerberg standing fully-clothed in a swimming pool, a goat on a table seen screaming in his face, and the CEO standing inches from what appear to be lawn mowers racing around the room.

According to Facebook marketing Chief Rebecca Van Dyck, the shot of Zuckerberg standing in a pool, was actually filmed with him standing in a pool.
'On the second day, yes, we did go to a swimming pool. Yes people did have to work at their desks in a swimming pool,' she told Business Insider.

As for the goat, described as 'especially talented' by Van Dyck, it also paid a visit to their office for the commercial’s filming she said.
Zuckerberg eventually snaps Joey, and the audience, back to reality after catching him zoning out during his speech.
'It's quite possible that this is funnier for Facebook than it was for you,' Van Dyck added of viewers' speculated reaction to it.

The ads, each running one minute long and featuring the app's used distraction for other ‘boring’ settings - including a family dinner and after boarding an airplane - have been lambasted as 'awful' by one Yahoo columnist and the newly released app 'basic' and 'superficial' by a TIME Tech reporter.
Google Play users, where the app can be downloaded, as of Tuesday night gives the program 2.3 out of 5 stars with the majority at 49 percent giving it a single star.
Still, it's currently the 4th most popular free new app on the page, with the general Facebook app being the most popular app of all offered.
