On April 8, 2013, police in Niederaula confirmed that more than $20,000 worth of Nutella was stolen from a parked trailer at some point over the weekend.
The thieves weren't just hungry, they were thirsty, too. The police state that also missing from the same location were "several tons" of Red Bull energy drinks.
Two weeks ago, another trailer was robbed of almost $40,000 worth of coffee.
Nutella is manufactured by the Italian company Ferro and is the 5.5 tons that were stolen have a value of approximately $20,710.
The Local reports that there were a total of seven pallets full of Nutella.
The pallets were inside a parked tractor trailer truck located at a railway station in Niederaula at some point between Friday after noon and Sunday night.
At this point, there are no suspects, but it's certain that if this is the same ring of thieves that stole the Nutella, they are fully caffeinated from the coffee and bouncing off the walls after drinking tons of Red Bull.
Will we hear reports that thieves rob a a bread truck next? After all, they will need to enjoy all of that stolen Nutella.
