Jim Carrey's foul-mouthed tirade at pro-gun lobby as he releases

He's always been outspoken about his views of gun legislation in the United States and has clashed with some of the pro-gun lobby on Twitter.
However, now Jim Carrey is taking his views to a whole new level after making a country and western song and accompanying video.
Ahead of the video's premiere online, he hit out at 'heartless motherf**kers' who want to keep America's present gun laws on his Twitter page.
The Canadian-born actor plays a singer called Lonesome Earl and late actor Charlton Heston, who was president of the NRA (National Rifle Association) before his death five years ago.

Jim's country song is entitled Cold Dead Hand - which refers to a 2000 speech made by Charlton at an NRA convention that he would never give up his rifles and he would only relinquish his gun if it was removed 'from my cold dead hands'.
The video sees Jim appearing on now-defunct US TV show Hee Haw (which ran from 1969 until 1992) singing about gun vendors in the US as 'profiteering from pain and fear'.
He controversially claims that God would 'set the vultures and coyotes' on the arms vendors.

As the frontman of Lonesome Earl and the Clutterbusters, Jim sings: 'They couldn't press the gun from his cold dead hand. It takes a cold dead hand to decide to pull the trigger...
'...with your cold dead anger trying to prove your d**k is bigger.'
During the song, Jim as an angry 'Charlton' is seen going for his gun after realising 'Earl' is mocking his beliefs.
He tries to shoot 'Earl' but realises his gun isn't working and is seen wrestling with it.

However, he ended up accidentally shooting his foot off, which provides a source of entertainment to the cast of Hee Haw.
In the hours leading up to the premiere of Jim's video on FunnyOrDie.com, he sparked a gun debate with his 10.1million followers on Twitter.
He said: 'Some ppl hate when i talk about guns so I decided to sing about it! Check out COLD DEAD HAND.
'Cold Dead Hand' is abt u heartless motherf**kers unwilling 2 bend 4 the safety of our kids. Sorry if you're offended by the word safety!'

As expected, Jim's tweets were met with a deluge of responses from pro-gun lobbyists.
He responded: 'I repeat, HOW ABT DEVELOPING MORE NON-LETHAL FORMS OF SELF-DEFENSE?! TOO SENSIBLE?!!!Why the hell are rubber bullets ILLEGAL?
'No 1 is answering my suggestion of developing non-lethal self-defense! I guess that wouldn't satisfy our national addiction to violence!
'Gun folks are afraid that control won't stop with large magazines. Their nervousness is far less important than the safety of children.

'Over a million ppl have been killed by guns in the US since John Lennon was shot. Look no further than your own backyard for WMDs!
'The important question is "Do we possess guns in America or do guns possess us?"'
He ended his Twitter banter by declaring he'd never 'felt so despised and so free at the same time'.
Jim's video comes after he spoke out on Twitter for more gun control following the December 2012 massacre in Newtown, Connecticut and July 2012 Batman shootings in Aurora, Colorado.

He tweeted last July: 'My love to the victims in Colorado. The kid ws sick bt u who can still support automatic weapon sales r the real maniacs in this country.
'Is 3000 rounds of amo sold online and access to semi auto weapons FREEDOM or HATE? Time 2 let go of r addiction and entitlement 2 violence.'
Although born in Canada, Jim holds dual nationality in both his country of birth and the United States.
