HBO show ending, HBO has announced it on March 19 that it is canceling its series Enlightened, the dark comedy that only had two seasons because of low ratings, though it was critically acclaimed.
Laura Dern and Mike White created the series and Dern played the leading role of Amy Jellicoe. Dern won a Golden Globe for her role after the first season, according to BuzzFeed.

The second season was ordered to have eight episodes instead of 10 episodes like the first season. The first season had a total of 0.17 million viewers, according to HBOWatch.
The second season ended in early March with Derns character exposing the misdeeds of the company where she worked and the third season was going to show her character going through the lawsuits.
In the Time's review for Enlightened's finale, writer James Poniewozik ended with, "In other words, HBO doesn't owe it to us to keep Enlightened on the air; HBO owes it to itself. That's what you get when you bring something amazing into this beautiful, upsetting world."
