She split from latest boyfriend John Mayer earlier this month
after realising she had 'no long-term future' with the enigmatic
musician.
But Katy Perry proved she is certainly not sat at home pining for her former flame as she stepped out on Good Friday.
Keeping busier than ever in the wake of the split, the 28-year-old singer channelled her energy into a gruelling gym session, before heading to the recording studio to work on her upcoming fourth album.
Arriving at Capitol Records in Hollywood, the I Kissed A Girl hitmaker appeared to have come straight from her workout, and was looking sporty in a pair of form-fitting leggings, which accentuated her slim figure, and a navy and pink zip-up Adidas jacket.
The star
wore her raven locks scraped back off her face into a messy bun, while
keeping her eyes sheltered from the Californian sun in a pair of dark
shades.
Katy seemed to be full of inspiration as she headed into the studio to continue work on her fourth album, and was carrying a laptop computer with her - no doubt jam-packed full of ideas.
She wrote: 'Step away from the snare sounds... #ocdrecording. OCD does not help, When comping vocals.'
The Californian starlet reportedly called it quits with Mayer - for a second time - when she realised the couple had no long-term future together.
A source told HollywoodLife.com: 'It's more of a break than a break-up. You'll probably see them hanging out sooner then later and hooking up again. They remain very friendly.'
Another source claimed: 'She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work.'
Katy was previously married to British comedian Russell Brand, while Mayer has enjoyed high-profile relationships with the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift in the past.

However,
the singer took to Twitter to vent her frustration at the recording
process because of her obsession with attention to detail. She wrote: 'Step away from the snare sounds... #ocdrecording. OCD does not help, When comping vocals.'
